Teachers say talking is a job hazard

As teachers return to work this fall, some find it hard to speak, literally. Voice and speech experts say they see an influx of teachers each fall who have strained voices. They say teachers are twice as likely as nonteachers to have voice problems, and women are hit harder than men. Teachers are often told to warm up their voices  and use portable microphones to help ease the strain
